Nestled amidst the lush greenery of The Felt Estate in Saugatuck, Michigan, Bethany and Carter’s wedding was nothing short of a dream. As a photographer, it's always a privilege to witness and document the intimate moments and unique details that make each wedding special. Their August celebration was a radiant blend of heartfelt emotions, personal touches, and a touch of elegance that left a mark on all who attended.

A Perfect Setting
The Felt Estate, with its historic charm and timeless beauty, provided the ideal backdrop for Bethany and Carter's wedding celebration. As luck would have it, the weather gods were on their side. The rain that had threatened to dampen the day held off, allowing for a sun-drenched ceremony that unfolded at the picturesque water fountain in the center of the estate’s pond. The tranquil setting amplified the romance of their vows and provided the perfect canvas for capturing their love story.

A Pup in a Tuxedo
Bethany and Carter's ceremony was a beautiful testament to their love and their bond with their furry friend, Wesley. As they exchanged their vows and sealed them with a kiss, Wesley, their beloved dog, was an integral part of the celebration. The couple’s joy was palpable as they walked down the aisle as a family, with Wesley proudly by their side.

Details That Tell a Story
The wedding was a treasure trove of thoughtful details, each one a reflection of Bethany’s meticulous planning and the couple's unique love story. Custom cocktails featuring Wesley's likeness, personalized crossword puzzles and word searches for guests, and a Lego guest book where attendees could create mini-figurines of themselves were just a few of the inventive touches that made the day unforgettable.

Bethany's choice to wear her grandmother’s jewelry and to have her mother’s wedding dress repurposed into a rehearsal dinner gown were poignant nods to her family’s history. Carter's contribution to the day was equally special, with a comic strip he illustrated for the custom wedding newspapers that added a playful, personal touch to their celebration. The couple also included custom ice from @grandicegr in their cocktails. A contribution from Carter's luxury ice business based in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

A Stylish Affair
The visual elements of the wedding were just as striking. The emerald green bridesmaids' dresses created a rich, vibrant contrast against the classic black tuxedos worn by the groomsmen. Each bridesmaid held a small bouquet of white Calla Lily's that coordinated with Bethany's bridal bouquet filled also with Calla Lily's, white roses and greenery. The black-tie attire set a sophisticated tone for the evening, perfectly complemented by the elegant white tent where the couple and their guests danced the night away.

Memorable Moments
One of the most touching moments of the day was the exchange of their handwritten vows. Bethany’s vows, infused with references to iconic rom-coms, were a beautiful homage to their love story, which she described as her favorite. The emotional weight of their promises, coupled with the laughter and tears they evoked, made for some of the most poignant photographs of the day.
A Night to Remember
As the evening progressed, the rain finally made its appearance, creating a cozy contrast to the lively dance floor beneath the white tent. The taco bar, a delicious and fun choice for dinner, kept the mood light and festive. The sound of laughter and music, paired with the rhythmic patter of rain, made for a magical atmosphere that perfectly capped off the day.
